What a Property Check is
A Property Check is a visit to a property in China by a person we send, with video, photos and a written report in English, as described for each package. It describes what the visitor saw, filmed and was told on the day. It is not a licensed building inspection, a structural survey, a title or ownership search, a valuation, or legal, tax or investment advice. Information given to us by owners, agents or building management is reported as stated and not verified.
Access and filming
Visits depend on permission from the owner, landlord or agent. We film only with their permission and do not film people's faces or private documents beyond what the owner chooses to show.
Payment
Prices are in US dollars. Property Checks are paid in advance by card through our payment provider. FangScout Insider is billed monthly until cancelled.
Refunds
Property Checks: if we cannot arrange the visit, for example because access is refused or the home is no longer available, you receive a full refund. Once the visit has taken place, the fee is not refundable, including when the home does not match its listing; that finding is part of the report. If we deliver late or leave out a part of the package you paid for, tell us within 14 days and we will fix it or refund that part.
Insider: cancel any time; you keep access until the end of the month you paid for. We don't refund partial months.
Third parties
Purchases and leases are handled by a licensed local agency in China that we introduce you to under its own contract and fees. Viewing trips are arranged by our sister brand ChinaWithEase under its own terms.
Privacy
We collect the information you send us (name, email, phone, addresses and questions) to provide the service, and use Google Analytics to understand site use. We share property details only with the visitor and the agent or owner needed to arrange the visit. We don't sell your information. To see or delete your information, email hello@fangscout.com.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any service is limited to the fee you paid for it.
